INTERAC e-Transfer® Expand/Collapse

A simple and convenient way to send and receive money directly from one bank account to another!  You can send funds to or receive funds from anyone with an email address or mobile phone number and a bank account in Canada.

Available using our mobile app, online banking, and mobile web.

Register your email address with Interac to receive e-transfer funds directly to your account without needing to login and answer the usual security question.

Request Money

Use your LeRoy CU online banking to send a money request via email or text to any individual or business in Canada.  Once the request is accepted and the money is transferred via Interac e-transfer, you will receive a notification that the funds have been deposited.

Deposit Anywhere Expand/Collapse

Using our mobile app you can deposit your cheque by taking a picture with your mobile device.

Here's how it works:

1. Open your LeRoy CU mobile app on your smartphone
2. Select your account and enter the amount of the cheque
3. Snap a photo of the front and back of your cheque
4. Confirm the details and tap submit. That's it!

Mobile Web Expand/Collapse

Mobile Web is online banking optimized for the smartphone. It does not require the downloading or installing of any application and is designed specifically for use on smartphones with web browsers.
With Mobile Web you can:

• View account balances and account history
• Pay bills (now or post-dated)
• Transfer funds (now or post-dated)
• Save your account numbers for quick future reference
• Login securely with increased authentication

In order to use Mobile Web Banking, access to MemberDirect Online Banking is required. If you're already a MemberDirect Online Banking member, you can start using Mobile Web Banking right away.

If you haven't signed up for MemberDirect Online Banking yet, contact us to get your Personal Access Code.

Mobile Banking Expand/Collapse

This method of Mobile Banking gives you real-time access to your account via text message. Just send a quick text message to your account and you will receive one right back with your current account information. It doesn't matter what kind of cell phone you have, as long as you can send and receive text messages.

E-transfer fraud prevention tips

Stick with the familiar

Only send e-Transfers to individuals or businesses that you know or trust, the same way you would with cash. It’s also a good idea to give the recipient a heads up, so they know to expect an incoming e-Transfer. If you receive an unexpected e-Transfer, be sure to check the notification carefully for things like an urgent or aggressive tone, request for personal information and suspicious links. These signs could indicate the e-Transfer is fraudulent.

Online sale scammers often request payment through e-Transfer. However, once the payment is made, you may not get the item you paid for and your money will already be gone.

Use a challenging security question

Your security question shouldn’t be easy to guess or search online, and someone shouldn’t be able to find the answer in your email or social media posts. Use a challenging question that only you and the recipient will know that answer to.

Be careful sharing the answer

Don’t share the answer to the security question by email and don’t put any hints about the answer to your security question in the message area of the e-Transfer. Call the recipient with the password if needed.

Review carefully

Always review and verify all the information very carefully before sending an e-Transfer. Make sure to double check both the sender and recipient contact information (phone number and/or email) as well as the transfer amount.

Register for Autodeposit

Autodeposit is a feature of the Interac e-Transfer service that lets you register to have funds directly deposited into your bank account without having to answer a security question.
